Stanek moves to Trident for third F3 campaign in 2022
Roman Stanek will move to Trident for his third season in Formula 3 in 2022.
Stanek will make the switch from Hitech Grand Prix for this campaign, completing Trident’s line-up for the campaign ahead.
The 17-year-old made his debut in the series back in 2020 with Charouz Racing System, scoring his first points at Monza.
2021 was more fruitful for the Czech driver with a couple of podium finishes to his name as he finished 16th in the drivers’ standings.
Stanek will be joined by Jonny Edgar and Zane Maloney as the team looks to defend the teams’ title.
Speaking about the announcement, he said: “I am proud to be part of the Trident Motorsport line-up as it is a leading force among F3 teams. I hope to bring in experience and speed to help the team defend its 2021 title.
“In my first two seasons in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, I’ve grown up constantly, and I am sure that with Trident Motorsport, we will have all the components needed to compete at a high level.”
Trident Team Manager Giacomo Ricci added: “We are proud to welcome a racer with such outstanding qualities like Roman Staněk. Despite being only 17, Roman is in his third year in the category and will bring the right amount of experience and speed.
“That will allow the team to continue its winning tradition in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Roman impressed the technical staff l during the 2021 post-season test when he was constantly among the fastest drivers on the track.”
